Public 2015 Budget Hearing

 

Wednesday, November 12, 2014               8:00 p.m.                               Town Hall
The hearing for the 2015 Budget was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairman Dan Knutzen.  Officials Present:  1st Supervisor Dan Rettler, 2nd Supervisor Tom Neubert, Clerk Karen Herman, and Treasurer Jeri Ohman.  Town resident Michael Garvey and Jeff Ohman were present.
 

The agenda was posted according to the open meeting law in the ACN/Times Press newspaper the week of October 27, 2014.  The agenda was also posted at the three posting places and at the Town Hall front door on October 27, 2014.

The Income and Expenditure categories and budget plans were reviewed.

 

The Town Board will review and approve the 2015 budget on Monday, December 8, 2014 

 

MOTION:  Rettler/Garvey to adjourn at 8:06 p.m.  All said aye.  Motion carried.

To approve the 2014 Town “tax levy” to be paid in 2015

Immediately following the completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed year 2015 budget, Dan Knutzen called the special town meeting of the electors to adopt the 2014 Town “tax levy” to be paid in 2015 to order at 8:07 p.m..  Officials Present:  1st Supervisor Dan Rettler, 2nd Supervisor Tom Neubert, Clerk Karen Herman, and Treasurer Jeri Ohman.  Town residents Michael Garvey and Jeff Ohman were also present. 

 

The agenda was posted according to the open meeting law in the ACN/Times Press newspaper the week of October 27, 2014.  The agenda was also posted at the three posting places and at the Town Hall’s front door on October 27, 2014.
 

Total proposed budget of income and expenses for 2015 is at $367,224.  Expenditures for 2014 were $363,183 which is a 1.11266% increase for 2015.

 

2013’s assessed value (includes real and personal property) was $95,583,100.  The 2014’s assessed value is $95,770,100.  This is an increased value of $187,000 which is a .19564% increase of assessed value for 2014

 

The amount of the proposed town levy is $202,568 for 2015.  2014’s town levy was $202,568.  The 2014 and 2015 town levy has stayed the same.

The Mil rate was $2.119287 for 2013.  The Mil rate for 2014 is $2.115148.  This amount has increased by -$.004139 from the previous year.
A show of hands was done to approve the 2014 town tax levy paid out in 2015 which is $202,568: 
7 aye; 0 nay; 0 abstaining or not voting.  Approved.  Chairman and Clerk signed resolution.
