Public 2011 Budget Hearing

The Hearing for the 2012 Budget was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairman Dan Knutzen. Officials Present: 1st Supervisor Dan Rettler, 2nd Supervisor Tom Neubert, Clerk Karen Herman, and Treasurer Jeri Ohman. Town Residents present: John Lemke and John Riehl.
The agenda was posted according to the open meeting law in the Advertiser Community News paper the week of October 24, 2011 and October 31, 2011. The agenda was also posted at the three posting places and at the Town Hall’s front door.
The Income and Expenditure categories and budget plans were reviewed.
ADVISORY VOTE: John Lemke/John Riehl to accept the budget. All said aye. Motion carried.
MOTION: John Lemke/John Riehl to adjourn at 8:09 p.m. All said aye. Motion carried.
The Town Board will review and approve the 2012 budget on Monday, November 14, 2011.

To Approve the 2011 Town “tax levy” to be paid in 2012

Immediately following the completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed year 2012 budget, Dan Knutzen called the Special town Meeting of the Electors to Adopt the 2011 Town “tax levy” to be paid in 2012 to order at 8:09 p.m. Officials Present: 1st Supervisor Dan Rettler, 2nd Supervisor Tom Neubert, Clerk Karen Herman, and Treasurer Jeri Ohman. Town Residents present: John Lemke and John Riehl.
The agenda was posted according to the open meeting law in the Advertiser Community News paper the week of October 24, 2011 and October 31, 2011. The agenda was also posted at the three posting places and at the Town Hall’s front door.
Total proposed budget of income and expenses for 2012 is at $363,665. Expenditures for 2011 were $369,465 which is a. -1.56983% decrease for 2012.
2010’s assessed value was $95,065,300. The 2011’s assessed value is $94,341,500. This is a decreased value of $723,800 which is a .7613% decreased of assessed value for 2011.
The amount of the proposed town levy is $199,215 for 2012. 2011’s town levy was $198,422. The amount of the Town Levy is up $793/0.39806% increase from 2011’s budget.
The Mil rate was $2.0872 for 2010. The Mil rate for 2011 is $2.111. This amount has increased by $.0238 from the previous year.
A show of hands was done to approve the 2011 town tax levy paid out in 2012 which is $199,215:
7 aye; 0 nay; 0 abstaining or not voting. Approved. Chairman and Clerk signed resolution.
