Planning Commission and Town Board
Meeting Minutes

 

Thursday, December 11, 2014                            7:00 p.m.                                           Town Hall

The Planning Commission and Town Board Meeting was called to order at 6:59 p.m. 

 

The following were present at the meeting:
Planning Commission members:  Norman Steffens, William West, Lee Lemke, Mike Garvey and Dan Knutzen. 
Town Board member:  Dan Rettler. 
Clerk Karen Herman. 
Jeffrey Sanders with Community Planning and Consulting LLC. 
 

The agenda was posted according to the open meeting law on December 4, 2014 at the 3-posting places.

MOTION:  Garvey/Lemke to approve the following Planning Commission meeting minutes:

May 29, 2014 – Planning Commission and Town Board Meeting
July 30, 2014 – Planning Commission and Town Board Meeting
September 24, 2014 – Small Group Planning Commission Meeting
October 1, 2014 – Small Group Planning Commission Meeting

October 8, 2014 – Small Group Planning Commission Meeting
November 20, 2014 – Small Group Planning Commission Meeting
November 20, 2014 – Updating the Comprehensive Plan Kick-off Session
Accepted as presented.  All said aye.  Motion carried.

Jeff Sanders indicated that the Village of Black Creek clerk has confirmed that they will join the town with the process of updating the comprehensive plan.  New timelines and adjusted comp. plan update pricing was distributed to the planning commission.  By doing the comp. plan update jointly, the town will save $1,353.

The Village will need to catch up to where the town is with updating the comp. plan.  Chapters 1 & 2 and 5 & 6 will be done in March jointly with the Village.

 

a.)  Presentation of Updated Chapters 1-3 of the Comprehensive Plan –

b.)  Review and Discuss Future Updates to Chapters 3-6 – Chapter 3 & Chapter 4 were reviewed and discussed tonight.  Clerk made note to all the changes the Planning Commission would like Jeff to change with our comp. plan.  They are attached.

 

Subdivision ordinance was discussed.

Roles of the planning commission versus town board were discussed.

 

Next meeting with be March 2015.

 

 

MOTION:  Garvey/West to end the meeting at 8:27 p.m.  All said aye.  Motion carried.
