NOTICE OF REFERENDUM ELECTION
OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WISCONSIN
NOVEMBER 6, 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at an election to be held in the several towns, villages, cities, wards, and election districts of Outagamie County, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the following question will be submitted to a vote of the people pursuant to law:
Question: Should the state legislature enact proposed legislation that closes the Dark Store loopholes, which currently allow commercial retail properties to significantly reduce the assessed valuation and property tax of such properties, resulting in a substantial shift in taxes levied against other tax paying entities, such as residential home owners, and/or cuts in essential services provided by an affected municipality?
This referendum is a result of Outagamie County Resolution No. 164—2017-2018, a copy of which can be viewed or downloaded from Outagamie County’s website at: http://www.outagamie.org/government/departments-a-e/county-clerk/elections/elections-by-year/2018-elections. A copy also can be obtained from the office of the County Clerk, 410 S. Walnut Street, Appleton, Wisconsin.
Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
