Public 2012 Budget Hearing

Wednesday, November 7, 2012               8:00 p.m.                        Town Hall

The hearing for the 2013 Budget was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairman Dan Knutzen.  Officials Present:  1st Supervisor Dan Rettler, 2nd Supervisor Tom Neubert, Clerk Karen Herman, and Treasurer Jeri Ohman.  Town Residents present:  None

The agenda was posted according to the open meeting law in the ACN/Times Press newspaper the week of October 22, 2012.  The agenda was also posted at the three posting places and at the Town Hall’s front door.

The Income and Expenditure categories and budget plans were reviewed.
ADVISORY VOTE:  Rettler/Neubert to accept the budget.  All said aye.  Motion carried.

MOTION:  Rettler/Neubert to adjourn at 8:40 p.m.  All said aye.  Motion carried.
 

The Town Board will review and approve the 2013 budget on Wednesday, November 14, 2012.

To Approve the 2012 Town “tax levy” to be paid in 2013

Immediately following the completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed year 2013 budget, Dan Knutzen called the special town meeting of the electors to Adopt the 2012 Town “tax levy” to be paid in 2013 to order at 8:40 p.m.  Officials Present:  1st Supervisor Dan Rettler, 2nd Supervisor Tom Neubert, Clerk Karen Herman, and Treasurer Jeri Ohman.  Town Residents present:  None.

The agenda was posted according to the open meeting law in the Advertiser Community News paper the week of October 22, 2012.  The agenda was also posted at the three posting places and at the town halls front door.

Total proposed budget of income and expenses for 2013 is at $362,867.  Expenditures for 2012 were $363,665 which is a. -.21943% decrease for 2013.

2011’s assessed value (includes real and personal property) was $95,114,700.  The 2012’s assessed value is $94,851,500.  This is a decreased value of $263,200 which is a -.27672% decreased of assessed value for 2012.

The amount of the proposed town levy is $200,582 for 2013.  2012’s town levy was $199,215.  The amount of the Town Levy is up $1,367/.68619% increase from 2012’s budget.

The Mil rate was $2.094471 for 2011.  The Mil rate for 2012 is $2.114695.  This amount has increased by $.020224 from the previous year.

A show of hands was done to approve the 2012 town tax levy paid out in 2013 which is $200,582: 
5 aye; 0 nay; 0 abstaining or not voting.  Approved.  Chairman and Clerk signed resolution.
