Tax Collection Dates

Tax collection will all be done at the town hall on the following dates/times:

Wednesday, December 28, 2011 . . 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Friday, December 30, 2011  . . . . . 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 31, 2011 . . .  . 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Thursday, January 26, 2012. . . . . . . 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, January 28, 2012 . . . . . . 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. . . . . . . . 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

If you want to mail in the 1st installment, please mail it to:   Jeri Ohman, Treasurer, N5687 Twelve Corners Rd, Black Creek, WI  54106.  If you would like your receipt, please send a postage paid envelope with your payment.

The 2nd installment due on July 31st MUST be paid to the CountyTreasurer.  Make this check payable to:  Outagamie County Treasurer.  DO NOT mail the 2nd installment to the “Town” Treasurer.  The first tax installment is due on or before January 31st.  The 2nd installment is due on or before July 31st, as provided in Section 74.03.  The Town Treasurer CANNOT accept any tax money after February 1st.  Any taxes unpaid on February 1st are considered delinquent and must be collected by the Outagamie County Treasurer

If you want your December payment to be credited in December, it MUST be in the hands of the “Town” Treasurer by the December 31st date.  Otherwise, payment will be credited to the January date if it is received by her.  This is in accordance to the State Statutes.

The Treasurer is NOT required to give a refund on the day you pay with an escrow check from your bank or Mortgage Institute.  If you have an escrow refund coming, you will receive it after the next Town Board Meeting, after you have paid your taxes.  THE BOARD MEETS THE SECOND MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH.

DOG LICENSES
1.  All dogs over 5 months of age must have a dog license.
2.  Fee:  $3.00 for a neutered male or spayed female dog
             $8.00 for a non-neutered male or non-spayed female dog.
3.  The law requires your dog to be vaccinated against rabies after it is 4 months of age and revaccinated
     within one-year after the initial vaccination.
4.  You are REQUIRED TO BRING ALONG, a copy of the vaccination papers of each dog, when purchasing
     the license.
5.  Dog licenses can be purchased from Jeri Ohman, when paying your taxes or call her (731-5113) to make
     an appointment.
6.  Any dog license purchased from Jeri after April 1st of each year (until the next tax season) will also
     include a surcharge of $5.00.

GARBAGE & RECYCLING INFORMATION— TOWN OF BLACK CREEK RESIDENTS
Garbage is paid through special charges on your tax bill.  New homes built in 2011 will be sent a bill for their 2011 garbage pickup only if you did not receive a refuse collection charge on your tax bill.  The 2011 yearly garbage rate was $107.75 and the 2012 rate will be $118.43 per pick-up.  This rate includes the contracts 3% annual increase, and fuel surcharges costs through 10/10/2011.

Garbage—Must be at the roadside by 6:30 a.m. every Tuesday but on the week of a Holiday it will run one day later.  Household garbage that is placed roadside should be in bags or any container not larger then 32 gallons.
Commingled Recycling—Must be at the roadside by 6:30 a.m. every other Tuesday but on the week of a Holiday it will run one day later.  The Recycling Schedule is listed below.

Covered recycling containers must be labeled with an Outagamie County Recycling sticker. 
Recyclables Include — Glass bottles & jars, aluminum, steel & bi-metal, metal lids & bottle tops, aerosol cans (non-pesticide), #1 & #2 blue plastic, #2 brown plastic, and #1 & #2 all other color plastics.  Corrugated cardboard should be broken down no larger than 2’ x 3’.  Mixed papersnewspapers, inserts, magazines, catalogues, junk mail, envelopes, phone books, paperback books, writing and copy paper, shredded office paper, grocery bags, and boxboard–non-corrugated cardboard. 
Non–Recyclables — paper contaminated by food or grease, tissue products, frozen food boxes, dairy containers, gift wrapping paper.  #1 brown plastic, plastic bags, anti-freeze & Oil containers, pesticide aerosol cans, #3 and #7 plastic containers.

 Computers, Monitors, Televisions and other video display devices, Fax machines, DVD and/or VCR players, printers, and cell phones.  Please check out the Outagamie website to find out your options and cost for recycling these types of devices at www.recyclemoreoutagamie.orgor 832-5277.
