Updating the Comprehensive Plan
Monday, September 21, 2015 7:00 p.m. Town Hall of Black Creek
The Town Planning Commission Meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m.
Seven people attended the meeting and signed in. Town Planning Commission members present: Dan Knutzen (Chairman), Norman Steffens, William West, Michael Garvey, and Lee Lemke. Clerk Karen Herman was present. Jeff Sanders with Community Planning and Consulting, LLC was leading the discussion tonight.
MOTION: Garvey/West to approve the last Planning Commission meeting minutes as written from August 26, 2015. All said aye. Motion carried.
The agenda for tonight’s meeting was posted according to the open meeting law on September 16, 2015 at the 3-posting places and our town website.
The Town of Black Creek’s Planning Commission will continue reviewing the Comprehensive Plan. Jeff reviewed the goals in Chapter 12. Discussed whether in the next 20 years a subdivision ordinance would be put in place. No decisions were made.
The official map shows the community municipal layout that can occur in the next 20 years. Jeff explained that the town does not need an official map.
He explained that the town’s zoning ordinance, subdivision ordinance, and official maps are important powerful documents that the town can have.
The comprehensive plan only, by law, must be reviewed once in 10-years. The comprehensive plan could be put on the agenda every year to discuss any changes.
Next meeting will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. scheduled jointly with the Village of Black Creek. The meeting will be located here at the Town Hall.
MOTION: Steffens/Lemke to adjourn at 9:36 p.m. All said aye. Motion carried.
